this is my third time to santa fe in the past 4 months. i've been going for lash tinting. the first time, the woman got it all in my eyes and they burned for quite a while (i'd been getting my lashes tinted in europe for a few months, so i knew what was normal FOR ME... this was not). the second time i had lauren. she was SO NICE (seriously, i love her, and would go to her for anything except tinting) but i ended up with dye all over my face. this time i went for a partial brazilian and a tint. i had elizabeth and she was fantastic. the only problem i had this time was that my appt was for 11:30, they thought it was 11:45, and i didn't end up going back until 11:55. so... make sure they get it right, i guess. at any rate, my lashes look great and the wax was good. voila.

wonderful!!

This is the best spa in Birmingham! I have been to this spa 3 times and every-time the experience is wonderful. And compared to other spa's the price is good also. Everyone is always wonderful! They are always asking are you good and do you need anything while you are waiting from one service to the other. My favorite services are the facial, massage, and spa! Thanks for always my experience so pleasureable!!

Great people and great service

When i went to santa fe day spa i thought it was wonderful and it was a great place to come too. i had my hair down many times from many of the girls and i can say going to many salons this is the only one that has stylists that do know what they are doing and work very hard to make me feel comfortable. the front desk girls do a great job and always make sure to say hello or asking me how i was doing. i enjoy every service i got and i cant wait for the next. also for the review that was given about heather, i think that was very rude and over the top. i have had heather do my hair and she does a great job, her trainning comes from floridas best schools. I can say that i will tell anyone that wants to know about santa fe day spa that its a great place .

Never Again! HEATHER-terrible hair stylist...took my money unprofessionally!

Posted by girlygirl3 on 6/6/2008

Here is the rest of my previous post......but the worst part was that when I went to check out.....Heather rang up the ticket and she never showed me a receipt with the breakdown of the prices of the services, etc and said "oh, that will be $300+"....I said "well, how much of that is not for the products Im buying?" She said "oh, you want to know that amount?" Well, of course! I'm not gonna tip you off of the cost of products....how rude! She said "$221" still without showing me a receipt. So I paid the $221 with the 15% tip of $33 and when she handed me the receipt I noticed something on it. She charged me $25 for the good smelling "conditioner" that I didnt ask for!! Also, she charged me $15 for flat ironing my hair....again, she never told me I would be charged for that!!!!! When I talked to her, she said "well, ive been trained by Redken and this is what we do to make sure the color lasts!". So I stupidly accepted it and walked out. After I got home, I thought about it and got mad! I called several times to speak to mgmt but they had Heather call me instead! She was very aloof to me when I explained how innapropriate she was with her charges, etc. She said I could come back in for a "store credit"....are you kidding me? I asked for the money to be put back on my card. After almost 2 weeks and speaking to the "owner-Gail" who could of cared less about what I had to say and didnt call me back when she said she would.....I finally got the refund. I even had to ask Heather for the refund of the tip I gave her for the conditioner and flat iron that I should have paid for. She gave me back $3, which wasnt even 15%!!! She did not refund the flat iron price either. I had even gone up there 2 or 3 times and was always told that "the managers are all gone for the day".....ya right! I was so mad about all this, that I returned all of the products I bought also. I dont want to have a dang thing to ever do with them ever again and I will tell everyone I know not to.

HEATHER-terrible hair stylist---STAY AWAY!

Posted by girlygirl2 on 6/6/2008

I feel like I HAVE to write this to let everyone know to STAY AWAY from Santa Fe. I went there about month ago on a Saturday around 12 noon as a walk in. I didnt ask for anyone in particular and they right away walked me over to a sloppy appearanced girl named HEATHER. This was my hair stylist? Great, I thought. Her hair was parted into pig tails and looked like tacky. That right there is a pet peeve of mine b/c if the stylist's own hair looks terrible than I dont have much confidence that they will make mine look great. Also, her clothes were quite unappealing looking...another red flag to me. Also, she barely even tried to talk to me and I noticed that none of the other stylists even paid her any attention...another flag. I talked to her about what I was wanting and looked through several magazines to point out pictures and tell her what I dont like also. We decided to do a angled bob and a highlight. She never mentioned prices to me. She was washing my hair and all of a sudden I smelled something really good. I asked "that smells good what is that?" She replied that it was some type of conditioner. She didnt mention anything else. She asked me if I wanted it flat ironed? I said "sure" b/c I had always had stylists at other salons do this. Again, no talk of price was mentioned. My hair style was nothing great to look at while I was there but it wasnt terrible.... until 2 days later when I washed it and tried to style it myself and it looked like garbage!!!! It was completely uneven and Ive had bobs before that were awesome but this one was very poorly cut. My color was also "copper" colored I was told my friends. It was not flattering. I was so upset I had to go call another salon in town and pay another $40-50 to have my cut done again and done right this time. And it was too soon to get another coloring session done. Even the stylist at the new salon talked about how poorly the cut and color was done. I had several friends tell me it looked bad.
